Marianna Karounos, DO

Marianna Karounos, DO, MS, FACEP, earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from New York University and her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. She did her residency training in Emergency Medicine at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson New Jersey, followed by a fellowship in Geriatric Emergency Medicine at New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr. Karounos completed a Master of Science degree in Clinical Epidemiology and Health Services Research at Weill Cornell Medical College, during which time she was name a John A. Hartford Scholar for her thesis work on Alcohol Withdrawal in the Elderly. Currently, she is the Chief of Emergency Medicine at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson New Jersey and sits on the Board of Director of New Jersey ACEP. She is a New Jersey native and lives in Mahwah, New Jersey with her husband and three children.
